Whitemarsh Township: Whitemarsh Township was incorporated in 1704 as part of Philadelphia County and was one of the 28 original communities that comprised Montgomery County when it was erected in 1784.During the American Revolutionary War, both the Battle of White Marsh and the Battle of Barren Hill took place within the township. The township of Whitemarsh consists of a total area of 14.7 square miles, of which, 14.6 square miles of it is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water. Adjacent to the Andorra section of Philadelphia, Whitemarsh is bordered in Montgomery County by Springfield, Upper Dublin, Whitpain, and Plymouth Townships and Conshohocken Borough. It is also bordered by the Schuylkill River, which separates it from Lower Merion Township.
Springfield: Springfield Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 19,418 at the 2010 census. It includes the villages of Wyndmoor, Erdenheim, Flourtown, and Oreland. The communities of Lafayette Hill, Fort Washington, Laverock, North Hills, Miquon, and Glenside are also partly inside the Township. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 6.8 square miles, of which, 6.8 square miles of it is land and 0.15% is water.
